How a general contractor would work for you:
- Gathers and evaluates bids from each trusted subcontractor including excavation, concrete, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, drywall, flooring, and painting.
- Provides a reliable list of suppliers for lighting and plumbing fixtures, tile, stone, granite, and cabinets.
- Provides all of the materials, labor, equipment, and services necessary for the construction of the project.
- Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the construction site, and the management of vendors and subcontractors.
- Keep the communication between the general contractor and the involved parties open and clear throughout the course of the project.
- Coordinates any meetings necessary between the architect, designer, Owner, and General Contractor.
- Monitors schedules of subcontractors and continued monitoring of quality of workmanship throughout the project.
- Arrange for permits and associated inspections.
- Establishes and maintains all the necessary documentation and financial information related to the project including insurance liability information from each subcontractor on the jobsite.
- Reviews and pays all invoices from subcontractors and suppliers, comparing original bid.
- Dispose and/or recycle of all construction waste.
